Brian Francis

Head of AccountChek

Brian Francis is Head of AccountChek & Special Projects at Informative Research, where he leads the company’s AccountChek business and drives innovation through advanced technology initiatives. With 17 years of experience in the mortgage industry and more than three decades in software engineering, Francis brings a unique blend of technical expertise and industry insight to help shape the future of credit and verification.

In his current role, Francis oversees the AccountChek platform, manages strategic relationships with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and leads special projects focused on agentic development and artificial intelligence. He plays a key role in advancing Informative Research’s innovation efforts through its internal “Mousetrap” team, focused on developing next-generation solutions.

Prior to joining Informative Research, Francis served as Chief Technology Officer at FormFree, where he was the inventor of the AccountChek solution. During his tenure, he helped bring AccountChek to market and played a role in its integration into the 2016 Super Bowl launch of Rocket Mortgage. Earlier in his career, he spent 19 years in technology roles at NCR and Microsoft, building a strong foundation in software development and engineering leadership.

Francis is a member of the Stewart AI Council and has been recognized with both the 2019 HousingWire Insiders Award and the 2020 HousingWire Vanguard Award. He takes a disciplined approach to work, emphasizing structure, consistency, and focus as key drivers of long-term success. He is also a firm advocate for maintaining clear work-life boundaries.

Outside of work, Francis is a literal rocket scientist, holding a degree in aerospace engineering from Georgia Tech. He is a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan, and enjoys traveling, most recently visiting Curaçao.
