Informative Research Launches myMortgageCredit.com to Educate Consumers and Provide a Resource for Loan Originators

IR Announces Site at Credit Reporting and Scoring Seminar for the Orange County Chapter of CAMB

GARDEN GROVE, Calif., Oct. 22 – At a Thursday meeting of the California Association of Mortgage Brokers, Orange County chapter, Informative Research (IR), a leading mortgage credit reporting agency announced the launch of a new mortgage information site, www.myMortgageCredit.com. The site addresses consumer questions regarding how credit reporting affects the home loan process, and can also be used as a place for mortgage originators to direct their customers.

myMortgageCredit.com provides comprehensive information on many common questions that consumers have regarding the credit reporting aspect of buying a home. Developed by Informative Research, a nationwide mortgage credit reporting agency with nearly 60 years of industry experience, the site features a collection of tools and resources for consumers to educate themselves on sound financial practices that will assist in the improvement of a mortgage credit score.

“We’re excited about offering the resources in myMortgageCredit.com to both consumers who truly need more information about mortgage credit reporting, and to our customers, who can use the site as an educational tool for the prospective loan applicants they meet,” said Jeff Lau, Director of Marketing, Informative Research. “By providing this forum, we are fulfilling IR’s Commitment to Customer Excellence. When we can also share our experience with consumers, we help both borrowers and their mortgage professionals become more credit savvy. myMortgageCredit.com helps answer some of the most common questions regarding credit reporting in a comfortable way.”

myMortgageCredit.com sheds light on such areas as: Understanding Mortgage Credit; Why is FICO® so Important?; Know Your Rights: The Top 10 things a consumer should ask when applying for a home loan; and How Legislation Affects Me. The site also provides a page with important links off to organizations like the Federal Trade Commission and the three credit repositories. As the site develops, consumers will have more interactive tools aimed at helping them choose the right mortgage partners and decide what types of financing are best suited for their credit situation.

The launch of myMortgageCredit.com was planned to align with Informative Research’s first credit reporting and scoring educational seminar. At the Orange County California Association of Mortgage Brokers (OC CAMB) meeting on Thursday, Informative Research presented a two-hour educational event to increase awareness of how mortgage brokers can use a specific workflow and service model to help borrowers who have troubled credit records.

IR’s seminar was a primer on credit scoring that introduced its credit scoring solution, designed to help brokers close more loans and build up a loyal customer following. The program covered the basics of credit scoring, common misconceptions about credit scores, and useful tools and tactics for explaining credit scores to borrowers.

As an affiliate member of the Orange County chapter of CAMB, Informative Research first volunteered to present the seminar as a part of CAMB’s educational program for the 2004-2005 year. Informative Research has said that it will begin offering seminars to customer organizations who request similar continuing education, as well as to partners and associations who are seeking knowledge. In November, IR will present a credit scoring seminar at a corporate meeting of one of its valued customers. By offering these seminars, IR can help customers be armed with the right information and tools to be better prepared to assist potential borrowers and build up a strong referral base.
